Day 1: Journey to the Alaknanda Valley
- Route: Haridwar/Rishikesh to Pipalkoti / Helang
- Distance: ~220 km to 240 km | Drive Time: 8–9 hours
- Highlights:
- Devprayag: Witness the magnificent birth of the Ganges.
- Rudraprayag & Karnaprayag: Pass through the major river confluences that define the Garhwal region.
- Stay: Overnight in Pipalkoti or Helang.
Day 2: The Hidden Urgam Valley & Kalpeshwar Darshan
- Route: Helang to Urgam Village & Kalpeshwar Temple
- Distance: 10 km (Drive) + 1-2 km (Walk) | Elevation: 2,200m
- The Journey: Drive from Helang into the interior Urgam Valley, famous for its high-quality apple orchards, kidney beans (Rajma), and traditional terraced farming.
- Kalpeshwar Temple: A short, easy walk leads you to the cave temple where Lord Shiva’s “Jata” (matted hair) is worshipped. It is situated at the scenic confluence of the Alaknanda and Kalpganga rivers.
- Bonus Activity: Visit the Dhyan Badri Temple in Urgam, which is part of the “Sapt Badri” circuit.
Day 3: Return to the Holy Foothills
- Route: Urgam / Pipalkoti to Haridwar / Rishikesh
- Distance: ~230 km | Drive Time: 8 hours
- Highlights: Enjoy a relaxed drive back. Stop at the local markets in Chamoli or Srinagar to buy authentic Garhwali pulses and spices.
- Evening: Drop-off at Haridwar or Rishikesh Railway Station/Airport.

- Accessibility: This is the only Panch Kedar temple that does not close during the winter. It is an ideal “all-weather” destination.
- Trek Difficulty: Extremely Easy. It is more of a village walk than a mountain trek, making it highly recommended for senior citizens and families.
