Your Travel Itenary
Day 1: Into the Yamuna Valley

Distance: ~200 km | Drive Time: 7–8 hours
Highlights: * Mussoorie Bypass: Enjoy panoramic views of the Shivalik ranges.
Kempty Falls: A popular stop for a refreshing break and photography.
Lakhamandal: (Optional detour) An ancient temple complex associated with the Mahabharata era, famous for its graphite Lingam.
Stay: Overnight in Barkot.
Day 2: The First Pillar – Yamunotri Darshan
Route: Barkot to Yamunotri Temple (Trek)
Trek Distance: 6 km (One way) | Elevation: 3,291m
Morning: Drive to Jankichatti, the base for the trek. The path is well-paved but involves a steady incline.
Activity: * Surya Kund: A natural hot spring where pilgrims cook rice and potatoes as “Prasad.”
Divya Shila: A rock pillar worshipped before entering the main temple.
Yamunotri Temple: Offer prayers to the goddess Yamuna at her black marble idol.
Stay: Return to Jankichatti or Barkot for the night.
Day 3: Serene Landscapes & Relaxation
Route: Barkot to Vikasnagar / Mussoorie
Distance: ~90 km to 130 km | Drive Time: 4–5 hours
Morning: A relaxed morning in Barkot. Take in the views of the Bandarpoonch peak.
Afternoon: Begin the descent. You can choose to stay in the quieter outskirts of Mussoorie or proceed toward the foothills.
Day 4: Conclusion of the Journey

Distance: ~80 km to 100 km | Drive Time: 3–4 hours
Highlights: * Sahastradhara: (If traveling via Dehradun) Known for its medicinal sulfur springs and limestone caves.
Prakasheshwar Mahadev Mandir: A beautiful temple on the Mussoorie-Dehradun road.

Trek Assistance: For those unable to trek, ponies, palkis (palanquins), and pitthus (porters) are readily available at Jankichatti.
