Day 1: Journey to the Winter Seat
Route: Haridwar/Rishikesh to Ukhimath / Ransi Village
Distance: ~200 km to 220 km | Drive Time: 8–9 hours
Highlights:
Devprayag: See the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers.
Ukhimath: Visit the Omkareshwar Temple, the winter seat of both Kedarnath and Madhyamaheshwar.
Stay: Overnight in Ukhimath or Ransi Village (the trek starting point).
Day 2: The Trek to the Middle Maheshwar
Route: Ransi Village to Madhyamaheshwar (Trek)
Trek Distance: 16 km | Elevation: 3,497m
The Trek: A moderate trail that passes through the dense forests of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. You will cross the scenic villages of Gaundhar and Bantoli (the confluence of Madhyamaheshwar Ganga and Markandeya Ganga).
Day 3: Buda Madhyamaheshwar & The Descent
Route: Madhyamaheshwar to Buda Madhyamaheshwar & back to Ransi/Ukhimath
Morning: A steep 2 km climb above the main temple to reach Buda Madhyamaheshwar. This spot offers a world-famous reflection of the Chaukhamba peaks in a small ritual pond.
Afternoon: After Darshan at the main ancient stone temple, begin the descent back to Ransi Village.
Day 3: Return to the Holy Cities
Route: Ukhimath to Haridwar / Rishikesh
Distance: ~200 km | Drive Time: 7–8 hours
Highlights: A relaxing drive back through the Mandakini valley. You can stop at Agastyamuni or Rudraprayag for lunch by the river.
Evening: Drop-off at Haridwar or Rishikesh Railway Station/Airport.
